Summertime Arrives

We have begun to take advantage of the pool in our new neighborhood. It is just 2 blocks from our house, and features an 18" deep wading pool that Alex and Genevieve have fallen in love with.

Meanwhile we are scheduled to close the sale of our old house this coming Thursday. Having that off the books, financially and mentally, will be a huge relief for me. Also the buyers seem to really appreciate the history of the house and love it for many of the same reasons that we do. That makes leaving it behind a little easier. Today we will pack up the last of our things.

Alex started his pre-Kindergarten class this week. It is most of the same kids he has been with since he was 2, so it is a pretty easy transition. This summer the class will start taking their first field trips. They will tour the Cold Stone ice cream shop, go to the movies, play mini golf, and lots more.

As I am typing this I have a very tired little girl dozing in my lap. Words cannot describe just how sweet she is:

I have a hunch you are going to have a fabulous summer! Alex looks pretty confident in that wading pool all by himself. I'm going to miss that Berthoud house too. So many wonderful memories there!

Wowee! Looks like you have a couple of little Water Babies! Maybe they will follow in their Great Grandma Ella Mae's footsteps!

That is such a sweet picture of Genna. She was so funny at Grandma Carla's house: She pointed to a lot of things she was not supposed to touch, as though marking them, ticking them off in her mind. Not that, not that, not that, actually pointing to the item. Grandpa Gene's golf ball was especially fascinating. Gene wanted to give it to her(being the doting grandpa that he is), but Mommy said no. Finally, it was too much. She picked it up and handed it to me. I said, "not for little girls" and finally put it up on the kitchen counter, out of reach. It was so very cute.
